I studied Czech language and literature at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague (master’s degree in 2007). Between 2004 and 2010 I worked at the Department of Onomastics of the Czech Language Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences. I was the co-author of the Dictionary of Minor Place Names in Bohemia (Slovník pomístních jmen v Čechách, III Bav-Bíd, Praha 2007; IV Bíg-Bož, Praha 2008; V Bra-Buc, Praha 2009). The main field of my interest lied in the theory of proper names in literature. It was also the topic of my doctoral studies (PhD. degree in 2015). I wrote several articles and the monograph (Literární onomastika. Antroponyma. Praha 2015) about literary onomastics.

In 2017 I returned to the Department of Onomastics. I continue my research of minor place names (now on-line https://spjc.ujc.cas.cz/). I focus on problems of surnames as well. My radio broadcast about etymology of Czech surnames is very popular (https://dvojka.rozhlas.cz/o-puvodu-prijmeni-7231789/o-poradu). I elaborate expert opinions on personal names for Czech registers. I am the executive editor of the journal Acta onomastica published by our Institute. I am a member of ICOS and Commission of Slavic Onomastics of International Committee of Slavists.
