Kristýna Kovářová (Ph.D.; 1988), an assistant professor at the Department of Czech Language (Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava), specializes in onomastics and lexicology. At the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava, she studied Czech Language (Ph.D.; 2019), and Bohemistics (M.A.; 2014). In 2018 she co-organized OOME, the Ostrava Onomastic Meeting Event, which attracted researchers from many onomastic domains. She authored the book Hydronymie povodí Ostravice – Jména řek, potoků, rybníků a studánek [Hydronyms in the Ostravice River Basin – Names of the rivers, streams, ponds, and springs]. Her main focus is research on proper names in texts, research on hydronymy and the research on relationships between names. She published in various prestigious venues (e.g., Acta onomastica, Naše řeč, Onomastyka).
